Who do you think that I Am?

stop sign"With that brief question Jesus Christ confronted His followers with the most important issue they would ever face. He had spent much time with them and made some bold claims about His identity and authority. Now the time had come for them either to believe or deny His teachings.

Who do you say Jesus is? Your response to Him will determine not only your values and lifestyle, but your eternal destiny as well."

Consider what the Bible says about Him:

Jesus is God
Jesus is holy
Jesus is the Savior
Jesus is the only acceptable object of saving faith
Jesus is Lord
Jesus is Judge

So how will you respond to Him?

"Who do you say Jesus is? That is the inescapable question. He alone can redeem you--free you from the power and penalty of sin. He alone can transform you, restore you to fellowship with God, and give your life eternal purpose. Will you repent and believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?"

I Corinthians 15:3-4 The gospel by which you are saved!

"For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures."

Consider the Claims of Jesus Christ

In his classic apologetic book called Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis has a famous challenge to those who say Jesus was a great moral teacher, but they reject His claim to be God. You may have heard this quote before, but I think it’s so good that it warrants reading it again. He says:

"A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic—on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg—or else he would be the Devil of Hell. He either knew that what he was saying wasn’t true, in which case he was a liar, or he didn’t know it was true—he was deceived—in which case he was nuts. "You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come up with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us."

What will you do with Jesus Christ?
